January 1 has come, and with it the Christmasy theme and falling snow have left. The standard Andreas09 theme, complete with its widescreen, cleaner layout and two-column sidebar, makes it's triumphant return.

Is There Anybody Out There?

Posted by Chickencowlord on June 30, 2013

I have returned, a much changed man of course. The years have been kind to me, and I find myself now in the midst of one of the most exciting moments of my life. However, throughout the years I was never able to forget this small, I supposed ultimately unimportant blog. United Lore as it is has become obsolete. Many blogs have gone above and beyond the goals we had once originally thought. Furthermore, sites like Tumblr, promoting user accessibility as opposed to having greater control of your content. Nonetheless, United Lore was a dream that in my opinion does not deserve to die. What exactly it is that we shall become is uncertain, but it is my hope that this blog may indeed be resurrected. Any who have interest in joining me in this project should email me at chickencowlord42@gmail.com. I pray that this blog will again see the light of day and provide honest, accurate feedback on games, be them Artix games or games of every other sort.

MechQuest: Release Analysis, 03/12/2010

Posted by Stelarinna on April 1, 2010

Welcome to Soluna, the city full of rainbows.
Yes. Rainbows. I counted thirteen.
Yes. Thirteen. In a holiday release that’s supposed to be themed around luck, not the lack of it.
Because that makes sense.

MechQuest: Release Critique, 02/26/2010: Necryptos Finale

Posted by Stelarinna on March 13, 2010

“Yes, you may insert a witty summary of your choice in place of this entirely useless block of text. The reason why I left it blank to begin with is open for interpretation. I might have done it because I don’t much like writing narrative summary, or I might have done it to emphasize that this review completely shatters my SRT, or I might have done it simply because, as so often happens, my brain simply could not come up with a simple summary. You take the call.”

*Stelarinna has entirely neglected to turn off the voice recorder.

“How’d I do?”
“Stel…I don’t even know what SRT is.”
“That? Oh. It’s short for Standard Reviews Template. The ‘UL Blog’ aspect is implied.”

MechQuest: Release Analysis, 02/19/2010

Posted by Stelarinna on February 26, 2010

Well, this week’s MQ release featured the Bloodrock finale. It sounds good on paper, but was it really such a nice release? I’m afraid I can’t say with complete confidence that it was.

MechQuest: Release Analysis, 02/05/2010

Posted by Stelarinna on February 13, 2010

First two quests in the Bloodrock Mountains Necryptos zone, a challenging new Vampire enemy, a playable mecha version of the challenging new vampire enemy available for NGs, and salvage items based on the challenging new vampire enemy.
(I don’t want to say “challenging new vampire enemy” again for at least two weeks–oh wait, I just did.)

MechQuest: Release Analysis, 01/29/2010

Posted by Stelarinna on February 6, 2010

Korin and Company have really been on a roll recently; this release contained the entire Fangor mini-zone and a new NPC. (Technically, there were two new NPCs.) Note: This review only covers last week’s release, not this week’s. That’s the schedule I’ve set for myself.
And while it was technically released earlier in January and falls under the unreviewed releases, the Automorph is so close to being the February Monthly Mech that I’ve included a short overview of it here. If I have time and if there’s any interest, I may write a full review of the Automorph at the end of February.

And with that said, let’s get to the actual review!

MechQuest and DragonFable Review Templates

Posted by Stelarinna on February 3, 2010

(Any reviews I write are bound to be long as it is, so why make things worse by not using a decent organizational system?)

MechQuest: Analysis of 12/23/09 Release

Posted by The Peanut Master on December 31, 2009

This week’s release concludes the Frostval 2009 story arc, with Shadow Claws and his army of minions has opened the portal to Planet Thoh and is now on the attack. The mini-war that lasted mere hours has long ended, and with it two new mech and new weapons released.

MechQuest: Analysis of 12/18/09 Release

Posted by The Peanut Master on December 20, 2009

This week’s release continued to spotlight Frostval, with a hefty amount of content for the week before Christmas: Three new enemies, five new weapons, a ton of new storyline content with two new cutscenes, a new uniform, all on top of a miniwar followed by a mini repeatable quest. Calling this a mouthful would be understating the quantity of the release and it is indeed quite a feat that AE released so much, but how was the quality? Read on to see my take.
