MechQuest: Analysis of 11/26/08 Release

This week’s minor release introduced a ton (35) new Thanksgiving seasonal weapons, ranging through all the weapon slots and ranging through all the levels.

Thanksgiving Holiday Rare Weapons


Thanksgiving has finally arrived once again for the millions of souls living in the US of A, and along with that MechQuest has received 35 new holiday weapons, no mechs however. There are 20 arm weapons (10 for each arm), 10 shoulder weapons (5 for each shoulder), and 5 head weapons. They also span through the entire level spectrum, from 5 to 27.


First and foremost, it’s great to see a huge batch of weapons released. 35 is a healthy amount of weapons, and it spans through all the weapons lots, so all needs should be fulfilled. On top of that, the weapons cross through the entire level spectrum, which is also great, and is something AE seemed to struggle with in past releases. In this way, there’s something for everyone, and we all have something to be thankful for. 🙂 And to top it off, the weapons themselves aren’t too shabby either. 😉 They represent Thanksgiving exceedingly well and overall give players more weapon options besides the same old defaults.


Many were expecting new seasonal mechs to be released. Honestly, I’m not surprised nor upset that there weren’t any, since there are plenty of weapons to hold us over. However, people have still complained, so to the Cons section it goes. Besides that, nothing special, and compared to the DragonFable counterpart release (with all-new boss fights, a return NPC, a TON of new rewards, and a continuing storyline, this seems like nothing. But, lest we forget, this is indeed the minor release of the week. 😉

Overall Grade of Release

8.5/10. Was it anything special? Absolutely not, but the release did what it had to do to represent Thanksgiving with seasonal rares in convincing fashion, and that was all we could have hoped for.

    mechquest has gone lame. no big releases tonnes of shops waiting to be opened. its lame

  2. I respect your opinion Adam, but if you are going to make such a bold comment, it would help if you backed it up with true facts (sorry, MechQuest had plenty of huge releases, and the only shops that haven’t been opened are Westion’s, and that’s for storyline purposes) and more detail. :/

  4. Haha, no, I didn’t forget the war, as this was only reviewing the minor Wednesday release. I just posted the end-of-war analysis.
