Quibble Coinbiter Returns
About: The moglin time-traveling trader has returned to BattleOn! The last time he appeared, it was just before the 1st Lord of Chaos arrived. Perhaps he can tell us something about the Second Lord of Chaos…? Anyways, Quibble has brought us weapons and armor that for some odd reason, seem to resemble roman attire…
Pros: This was awaited by players for quite a while. This time it appears Quibble didn’t travel to Lore, he traveled to Earth! I liked how quite a few of the items were from 15 AC to 25 AC range, a reward for the over 55,000 Battle Bars downloaded. I liked the theme as well.
Cons: Uh… well… hmm… The two other costumes were upgrade-only?
Grade of Release: 9.5. A good set of weapons released, even more expanding the set of costumes.
Clubhouse Upgrade
About: OH NOES! Cysero, the Mad Weaponsmith, has taken over the clubhouse. He thought that C stood for Cysero! The Clubhouse, released at the start of AQW Gamma, has gotten a long-awaited update, with 5 new rooms full of insanity.
Pros: Obviously, it is good for this area to be updated. Interesting features… I liked the Secret Room, which pulled random enemies across from Lore, and you get to battle them! There was fun in every room! There was also a room which lets you use potions… an upcoming feature?
Cons: Well, the other rooms didn’t get an upgrade at all.
Grade of Release: 9.0. A solid upgrade to a long-time-non-upgraded area, which members have enjoyed.
We’re Under Attack! (The Sneevil Invasion)
About: After Quibble Coinbiter arrived in town, a massive army of 6 million Sneevils (Oh…great!) have come to take away his treasure box! It will take the combined efforts of the players of AQW to fight back this invasion!
Pros: The war is good to get the weapons from the previous mini-wars. It also serves as a place where newer players can train their classes.
Cons: No new weapons released. Not a 100% drop on the Defender Medals. We’re not fighting 6 Million! We’re fighting more!
Grade of Release: 7.5. This war will go down in history as the war in which AQW nearly lost… anyway, an okay war, but no real add-ons from previous wars.
Book of Lore Update And Color Customization!
About: The Book of Lore was finally updated with the storyline spanning the Chiral Valley quests. Also, players can now customize certain pieces of armor.
Pros: Well, of course, this is all good! People have been getting annoyed with just the same Book of Lore for a million years. Also, customization has been a long time coming!
Cons: Uh… not enough items can change the color?
Grade of Release: 9.9. This part of the release was awesome. Updates to longtime coming sections are great.
Overall Grade of Release: 9.0. An amazing, huge, great release AE has managed to pull off, with a ton of new items and tweaks. May even rank up in the top 10 greatest releases…
Wow. Summed up like that, you realize how much actually happened last month. It felt fairly empty to me, but actually did have quite a few releases…
