AdventureQuest Worlds: Analysis of 12/11/08 Mini-Release

Posted by 0rik on December 16, 2008

Sorry, I’m a bit late… Snow is falling in Battleon! Frosty the Snow Golem is in town as well…

Frosty the Snow Golem

About

Every December, Artix Entertainment celebrates the holiday seasons in their games with Frostval. This mini-release is the opening of the path to Frostval.

Pros

There is a new quest, a new enemy, and there are 2 new items.

Cons

Small Release. The zone has only 3 maps, and 1 enemy. Free-players can’t even access the quest and one of the new items! Plus, they released this small teaser, leaving us to want more, but didn’t give us anything else to do. The area is simply too small.

Score: 5/10 You finish the area in a matter of minutes, and barely any content was released. It just leaves you wanting more.

  1. This was a plain old pathetic release, imo. Just a picture perfect example of AE adding more stuff that doesn’t need to be here, when they should be focusing on bigger and better things. If you’re going to release such a pathetic thing as this, you might as well forget it and work on the real stuff.

They really do need to focus on game mechanics, not content… but it is an event month, so not much can be done…

Lemmy, actualy it would be classified as a filler content. They are trying to rush as much as they can, while driving the other games to the shadows. And mind you that is simply my honest oppinion. I honestly feel that AQW should not have been released until they had it thourghly fleshed out.
